Pack 47 Needs Your Help!

We need your help! Our Pack needs adult volunteers to help support our Scouts and guide them as they develop leadership skills and all the preparedness knowledge Scouting offers.

We currently need to fill the following positions:

Tiger Den Leader (or co-leaders)

  • The Tiger Den Leader plans the program of activities for the year and makes that plan available to all the adults.
    • The den leader does not organize and run every den meeting and outing, instead the actual running of the program is done through shared leadership with the Tiger adult partners.
  • A Tiger Den relies on the support and enthusiasm of its families! This shared leadership helps ensure participation by all, provides a sense of ownership to all, and gives each scout a chance to work on leadership skills!

Pack Committee Members Needed:

Pack Committee Members: This is a great ‘entry’ level role for those interested in volunteering and helping to shape our pack’s activities.

  • Coordinate the pack’s program, including attending monthly committee meetings and planning out the pack’s calendar of events and activities.
  • Ensure that all Cub Scouts receive a year-round, quality program.

Popcorn Kernel(s) or Committee: The popcorn kernels or popcorn committee, manage our annual popcorn fundraiser. Without this role our pack would not have the funds to operate.

The Popcorn Kernels:

  • Manage the registration, ordering, and pickup of the popcorn products.
  • Schedule show-and-sell opportunities throughout the community.
  • Produce informational materials about popcorn sales opportunities and needs.
  • Manage the prizes won by scouts due to popcorn sales.

Other positions:

  • Membership & Recruitment Coordinator
  • Advancement Coordinator
  • Webmaster
  • Blue & Gold Banquet Coordinator

We need you to help us provide the direction and coaching that will empower our Scouts with the skills they will need to lead tomorrow. You do not have to have any Scouting experience to volunteer. There are a variety of training opportunities available and our current leaders, such as myself, will be there to support you every step of the way. The more volunteers we have the lighter the load will be to carry and the more enriching our Scouts experiences will be.

The advantages of Scouting are not limited to youth. Volunteering with our pack provides a rewarding experience for all those involved. The pack covers the cost of membership fees for all adult applicants and each volunteers gets their very own Pack 47 t-shirt!
